“GROWTH DRIVERS FOR THE GREEK ECONOMY” CONFERENCE

Growth Drivers for the Greek Economy

The international conference Growth Drivers for the Greek Economy: Resilience, Inclusiveness, and Structural Transformation is a one-day event convened by the International Economics and Development Laboratory at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, together with the Hellenic Observatory of the London School of Economics, on Thursday 11 September 2026 at the Athens University History Museum in Plaka.

The conference asks what will sustain growth in Greece beyond the years of stabilisation. Across four thematic sessions,  on the labour market and social cohesion, fiscal frameworks and debt dynamics, productivity and industrial policy, and the emerging challenges of policy capacity, it brings together contributors from universities in Greece and abroad alongside the Bank of Greece, the European Stability Mechanism, the European Central Bank, the EBRD and the OECD.

It is conceived as an intensive day of presentation and debate, in the spirit that has long guided our work: building a bridge between policy-relevant research and what happens in the field.

Meeting participation is by invitation only. However, the conference programme and all the papers are available to download.
